Who we are

US TDI Regulatory Engagement is embedded in the TDI Strategy & Enablement team which brings together the TDI Strategy, Change Enablement and Regulatory Engagement. The TDI Strategy & Enablement team aims to set out guidance to the TDI organization on strategic priorities via the TDI Strategy and to drive consistent messaging towards internal and external stakeholders, especially to regulators.

Overview

The US TDI Regulatory Engagement Specialist Advisor is a member of the TDI Regulatory Engagement team covering all regulatory engagement and exam management activities in the Americas, including (but not limited to) the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB), the Office of the Comptroller (OCC), the NY Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) or the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), but as well to participate in exams from other regions, where the US is the focus of questions and requests. In particular, the role covers the management of specific monitorships and third-party reviews induced by US Regulators, for instance the annual FRB-mandated OFAC Morrison & Foerster Monitorship Compliance Review. The role ensures that the regulatory requests assigned to the role - whether from exams , meetings or ad-hoc information requests - are responded to in a concise way and a timely manner, in line with the expectations of our regulators. The role requires strong stakeholder management, communication and content expertise on current regulatory topics and legislation for technology in the Americas. The role reports to the Head of TDI Regulatory Engagement for the Americas, based in New York.

What You'll Do:

  • Coordinates assigned regulatory exams, meetings or information requests concerning Technology, Data and Innovation (TDI) topics in the United States
  • Works collaboratively with counterparts in the US TDI organization and key stakeholders across the DB franchise, to ensure accurate and timely responses, messaging and communications to regulators
  • Partners effectively with the TDI Risk & Control team as well as the regulatory engagement teams in the other regions
  • Supports meaningful updates and highlights potential risks for regulatory deliverables, including milestones, supervisory findings (MRAs, MRIAs), etc.
  • Provides clear, concise and balanced updates to the Head of TDI Regulatory engagement in the US as well as DB-internal governance fora across the Americas
  • Identifies opportunities for synergy, overlap, or ability to leverage efforts between various regulatory commitments; and drive process improvements

How You'll Lead:

  • Effective communicator on technology trends and current topics on the agenda of key regulators across the Americas region
  • Ability to quickly dissect questions in terms of what the actual focus of the topic is ('why do they ask what they ask?') and where to address these questions within the franchise
  • Self-starter who brings high sense of urgency to assignments and goals, with integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive professional attitude
  • Highly organized, strong analytical and detail oriented working mode
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and change and working in a large, complex organization

Skills You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
  • Extensive of relevant experience in financial services, technology and regulatory engagement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a wide variety of people across functions / seniority
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in written responses to regulators such as on MRA, MRIA, exam findings
  • Experience in driving governance and controls and Understanding and application of project management methodologies across delivery life cycle

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York is $125,000 to $203000.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
