We are currently searching for an experienced Transportation Project Manager with 10+ years of relevant experience to support our Southwest Region located in San Antonio, TX.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, 10 years of progressive transportation/roadway experience and 3 years' experience in management of engineering and support staff.

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide daily technical support to engineering staff
  • Oversee engineering design teams
  • Develop engineering schematic, plans, estimates, and details for various transportation projects
  • Provide project management and engineering support project delivery
  • Develop & monitor project scopes, budgets, and schedules for various transportation and mobility projects

What you need to have:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Civil engineering
  • Licensed Texas P.E.
  • 10+ years of progressive transportation/roadway experience
  • 3+ years of experience in management of engineering and support staff
  • Relevant experience in OpenRoads Designer (ORD)
  • Experience in ProjectWise file management environment
  • Ability to develop and implement detailed Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plans
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
  • If applicable to the position, a post offer fit for duty evaluation to ensure the individual can safely perform the essential functions of the role
  • Valid driver's license
  • A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)

Additional specialties for this role:

  • Strong history and experience with TxDOT projects and programs
  • Assist office leader with business development and marketing responsibilities
  • Engage and participate in local and regional organizations that support the engineering and transportation industry
  • Assist in development of project pursuit proposals and presentations
