About the Position
As our Nursing Manager, you will provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for all nursing functions within the Community Health & Records Services division, ensuring seamless coordination and oversight. In this role, you will spearhead initiatives aimed at reducing the transmission of communicable diseases while actively promoting and sustaining high immunization rates among children and adults throughout Maricopa County. Through collaborative efforts and innovative approaches, you will have the opportunity to drive impactful public health outcomes that enhance community well-being and safety.

We Require
Five years of experience as a Registered Nurse, which includes two years as a Nursing Supervisor Community or public health based nursing experience Bachelor of Science in Nursing A valid, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing or issued by another state recognized by the Arizona Board of Nursing as a multi-compact license state

Oversees and ensures CHRS division nursing staff meet all Arizona nursing and clinic licensure and clinic requirements Manages nursing operations, ensuring it aligns with current nursing and medical practices and procedures as well as grant requirements Collaborates with all programs to ensure effective communication and coordination of patient services Develops and implements policies and procedures that govern nursing services Serves as a spokesperson for nursing matters within the department, division, and with external organizations Directs, coordinates, and evaluates all nursing activities; establishes operational goals, objectives, and timelines; evaluates progress and develops corrective action plans; evaluates, develops, and prepares grant applications and funding proposals Ensures that all aspects of grant deliverables are met Directs, coordinates, and oversees all human resource functions for the office including the hiring, supervision, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions; directly supervises nursing supervisers; ensure actions comply with County Merit Rules, other County and Departmental policies and procedures, and applicable state and federal employment and labor laws and professional licensing requirements Directs, coordinates, and evaluates all quality assurance, risk management, incident, and improvement activities to ensure administrative and clinical practices comply with applicable state and federal regulations, and contractor requirements; develops policies and procedures to establish consistent and clear practices throughout the Office Actively participates in department-wide committees and work groups Directs, coordinates, and oversees Community Wellness and Health Promotion and participates in clinical services financial matters, including the procurement of resources, establishment of contracts, authorization of expenditures, monitoring of revenues, expenditures, and inventory, management of budgets, analysis of trends and variances, and development and implementation of corrective action plans Directs, coordinates, and oversees the development and maintenance of all information systems for Community Wellness and Health Promotion to ensure the systems provide timely, accurate, and useful information for decision-making, encounter reporting, statistical tracking, productivity analysis, billing services, and reporting responsibilities Duties that the incumbent may be called upon to perform in emergency situations: bioterrorism response; communicable disease outbreak management
Working Conditions
Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions Ability to exert up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly, and requires walking/standing to a significant degree Valid Arizona driver's license is required upon hire Ability to participate in emergency response training as scheduled and be available to respond as directed in the event of a public health emergency Must secure and maintain an Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card and complete a background check Within one month of hire, all employees will be required to provide evidence of immunity or receive immunizations for vaccine-preventable illnesses for any position within the Maricopa County Department of Public Health; required immunizations include MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Tdap (whooping cough and diphtheria), Varicella (chickenpox), and annual Influenza; some positions require a Hepatitis B vaccine and/or a Tuberculosis test
