About the Job

Work Arrangement:
* The position is expected to work primarily on-site. Your work location will be in Wallin Biomedical Biosciences.
* The Department retains the right to modify flexible work arrangement agreements on a temporary or permanent basis for any reason at any time.

All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.
Required Qualifications:
* PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biology, or a closely related biomedical field
* Strong foundation in cellular and molecular immunology, with demonstrated expertise in T cell and dendritic cell biology
* Extensive hands-on experience with mouse models of infection, inflammation, and immune memory
* Proficient in flow cytometry, including high-dimensional and cell-sorting techniques, and immune phenotyping of primary cells
* Skilled in molecular biology and protein biochemistry, including qPCR, shRNA knockdown, cloning, western blotting, and MHC tetramer generation
* Experience with RNA-seq data analysis
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with antigen-specific immune monitoring (e.g., MHC class I tetramers)
* Experience in confocal imaging, ELISA, and viral assays
* Experience with bioinformatic workflows and interpretation of immune transcriptomic data
* Demonstrated productivity through first-author and collaborative publications in immunology

Job description:
To investigate the role of cell death sensing in regulating immune responses, with a particular focus on the contraction phase of T cell responses. This position seeks to elucidate how innate immune sensors detect dying T cells, and how this process influences the resolution of inflammation and the formation of memory T cells. The work involves integration of mouse models, flow cytometry-based immune profiling, and molecular dissection of cell death and efferocytosis pathways, aiming to uncover immune-regulatory mechanisms with relevance to infection, vaccination, and chronic inflammation.

Responsibilities:
* Design and conduct in vivo experiments using murine models to study immune regulation during T cell contraction and resolution of inflammation
* Perform high-dimensional flow cytometry for immune phenotyping and apoptosis/efferocytosis analysis
* Use molecular and cellular tools (e.g., gene knockdown, qPCR, antigen presentation assays) to dissect pathways of cell death sensing
* Conduct transcriptomic and pathway analyses (e.g., RNA-seq) to uncover regulatory networks
* Generate figures and contribute to manuscript writing and data presentations for publication and conferences
* Assist in maintaining and optimizing core immunological assays and cytometry platforms
* Present findings at lab meetings and scientific conferences; contribute to collaborative research discussions
* Prepare figures, methods, and manuscripts for publications
* Mentor junior trainees and contribute to the lab's knowledge-sharing and collaborative environment
