Position Description

ENSCO Inc is a diverse engineering and technology company that provides engineering, science and advanced technology solutions that guarantee mission success, safety, and security to governments and private industries worldwide.

We are seeking an experienced Staff Mechanical Engineer to support the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL)/Integrated Experiments and Evaluation Division (RVE) to provide support in cradle to grave efforts. Responsibilities include:



  • Support full life-cycle technology implementation tasks, including:
  • Space technology, spacecraft, and high-altitude balloon flight hardware design and fabrication, software/firmware design, and development.
  • Laboratory research, test and assessment design, technology validation testing and experimentation.
  • Re-engineering and re-design of software and hardware after testing
  • Support Hardware/Software-in-the-Loop and Cloud Computing Architecture development and administration tasks including:
  • Design and development of cloud computing architectures supporting RVE hardware/software-in-the-loop testing environments.
  • Implementation of cross-domain solutions to move data between different classification levels, external connections, and point-to-point transmissions.
  • Develop, maintain, and upgrade RVE hardware/software-in-the-loop testing environments.


Qualifications Required:



  • Minimum of 5 years of mechanical engineering experience in the defense industry
  • Offer detailed analysis to support mission development for space technology
  • Support hardware and software integration for flight experiment launch
  • Ability to modify standard practices and adapt equipment or techniques to solve a variety of problems
  • Ability to utilize precedents from previous approaches and modify to provide for the specialized requirements of new projects
  • Experience applying the standard practices of related engineering disciplines and architecture as they relate to engineering design.
  • Proficiency in CAD/BIM software, load calculations and energy efficiency standards.
  • Technical consultant and design project engineer on all design aspects of projects.
  • Contributes to the development of presentations, engineering studies, cost estimates, Gantt charts and strategies to communicate with stakeholders.
  • RMA experience such as:
  • Performing reliability analyses, including allocations, predictions, and FMECAs
  • Executing reliability test activities, such as HALT, accelerated aging, and HASS development
  • Developing and conducting technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts
  • AN ACTIVE DOD TOP SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE with SCI ELIGIBILITY IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION FOR WHICH, YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN


Qualifications Desired:



  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), Information Technology, computer science or similar from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer License

Salary Range
$108,825.60 $155,542.40 USD
