Position: Engineering Student Associate

Department: Medical & Clean Manufacturing (MCM)

Term: Summer 2025

POSITION OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES

At KFI, we view Interns, Co-ops, and Student Associates as an investment in our future. That means we need to help educate in the way we do business, and expose them to a range of projects, work and industry sectors. Our Interns/Co-ops/Student Associates are typically responsible for performing engineering tasks, providing input and technical expertise, and working closely with management, project team, and clients.

Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Site visits to gather field information as required.
  • Performs engineering calculations
  • Excel spreadsheets for document preparation
  • Participates in various meetings, providing analysis, input, and recommendations
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of project schedules as needed
  • Report writing
  • Revit conversions
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Pursuing a degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Displays professional engineering ethics and complies with KFI policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of different engineering software (e.g. AutoCad, Revit, EES), and other computer applications (including MS Office).
  • Treats people with respect; relates well to people regardless of their organization level, personality, or background.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Writes and presents effectively; adjusts to fit the audience and the message.
  • Organized and able to manage time effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
  • Professional, able to represent KFI in a professional manner.
  • Willingness to travel if needed

Working Conditions

  • Occasionally, some work locations will feature the tough terrain typical of construction sites or require lifting or moving field testing equipment.
