McGough Construction, an ENR Top 100 General Contractor specializing in Commercial Building, Manufacturing and Construction Management is currently seeking qualified candidates for the VDC Assistant Project Manager position. The VDC Assistant Project Manager is responsible for executing the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) on assigned projects, supporting the management of the VDC content, standard work documentation, and providing marketing & estimating support as needed.


Qualifications

Required:



  • BS degree from accredited college/university focusing on Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Science, or equivalent AEC industry experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in BIM and supporting VDC planning & execution at the project level.
  • Intermediate level of knowledge on current construction delivery models, practices, and documentation.
  • Intermediate level of understanding on building systems, types and construction sequencing.
  • Capacity to train less experienced VDC staff on VDC tools and workflows.
  • Capacity and eagerness to educate staff outside the VDC department on VDC-related tools and workflows.
  • Intermediate level competency using BIM authoring software such as Revit.
  • Intermediate level competency using 3D coordination software such as Revizto and Navisworks.
  • Ability to actively listen, mentally visualize and then produce detailed 2D, 3D, 4D or 5D deliverables for use by internal and external clients.
  • Powerful desire to learn, apply and train new processes, technologies and methodologies that promote the use of BIM, VDC and a LEAN culture.
  • Self-motivated and efficient at working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Detail-oriented and able to efficiently manage multiple tasks simultaneously without direct supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving, mathematical, and written/verbal communication skills.


Preferred:



  • Ability and experience setting up and managing projects in Revizto.
  • Experience with planning & execution of laser scanning, the associated processing and deliverable creation from the data.
  • Part 107 certification a plus. Experience using drones and associated software to create valuable deliverables for the project team.
  • 360 photo platform experience. Understanding & educating on best practices for capturing and accurate progress tracking.
  • 4D/5D Phasing modeling and animation creation using Fuzor, Synchro Pro or similar software.
  • Experience creating and collaborating with protect teams on virtual mockups.
  • Programming experience using Dynamo, Python, or similar tools.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite a plus.


Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Support the VDC Project Manager(s) in the production of VDC deliverables to meet project needs.
  • Support VDC Project Manager(s) in the maintenance and updating of VDC 2D/3D content libraries.
  • Coordinate with the VDC Project Manager to add to and maintain content libraries for the various software used by the VDC team.
  • Develop models for Site Logistics, 4D phase planning, virtual mock-ups and MEP coordination.
  • Aid project teams by utilizing BIM for visualization, constructability, and coordination.
  • Meet w/ project teams to define VDC scope, approach and budget for each specific project or pursuit.
  • Work with VDC Project Manager(s) to aid in the development and to execute BIM Execution Plans for assigned projects.
  • Create 2D/3D/4D/5D deliverables using Revit, Navisworks, Sketchup, Bluebeam, and Fuzor as defined in the BIM Execution Plan.
  • Manage and facilitate design coordination and clash detection with design disciplines, subcontractors, and fabricators on medium to large scale projects.
  • Train other project team members as needed on the access and use of VDC deliverables & BIM related tools.
  • Actively contribute VDC lessons learned from projects assigned.
  • Practice and support continuous improvement in VDC and throughout company processes.
  • Work on projects inside and outside of regional office as needed.
  • Developing content to support marketing/pursuit teams as needed.


Office and Travel

  • Primary office location is negotiable.
  • Willing to consider remote work.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to project jobsites as needed.
  • Some projects may require full or part-time onsite presence and will be discussed prior to assignment.

Position involves sitting for extended periods of time at employee's workstation and during meetings as well as while traveling, either by plane or car. Employee needs to be able to lift up to 20 pounds as frequently as needed to move objects; dexterity to write and manipulate computer keyboard and mouse; ability to hear and speak clearly; and ability to distinguish between colors on graphs and charts.

Occasionally, employee will be required to visit construction jobsites which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures.

In alignment with our commitment to pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $110,000, excluding fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you join McGough, your final base salary will be determined by several factors, including geography, location, skills, education, and experience. Furthermore, we place significant value on pay equity among our current team members as part of any final job offer.

Please note that the range provided above reflects the hiring range for this role. Hiring near the top end of this range would be atypical, as we aim to allow room for future salary growth.
