Job Description

Purpose:

The Senior Manager Acounting - Waste Treatment Facilities assists in overseeing the accounting, controlling, and financial analysis for Crystal Clean's Non-Hazardous and Hazardous Waste Treatment Facilities. This role manages the periodic accounting close process for the facilities, leads the financial analysis of these facilities, has primary responsibility for the accounting and analysis of certain Company-wide expense items, will participate in monthly operations meetings, will assist with the implementation of accounting standards applicable to the facilities, and participate in other accounting, analytical, and special projects on a regular basis. This role reports to the Chief Accounting Officer.

Essential Duties:




  • Leads the period-end accounting close process for all Crystal Clean Waste Treatment Facilities, including additional close processes at quarter-end and year-end
  • Responsible for monitoring intercompany transfer rates throughout the year and recommending updates as appropriate
  • Develop and implement intercompany transfer tracking process
  • Ensures plant allocations are accurate and updated at least annually
  • Prepares monthly summaries and KPIs for executive distribution
  • Works directly with operations management on site strategic initiatives and capital improvements
  • Analyzes the performance of specific locations and the total waste treatment operations to support business decision-making, maximizing profit, and driving operational efficiencies
  • Meets monthly with operations management to review financial results
  • Contributes to the preparation and review of materials for quarterly Board of Directors meetings
  • Provides documentation and support of financial performance of waste treatment facilities for monthly management meetings
  • Devises and implements process improvements to increase efficiency and enhance internal controls around processes within the function
  • Works closely with other functions, including others within accounting, to ensure all transactions are recorded in the correct fiscal period and in accordance with US GAAP accounting standards
  • Collaborate with functional leaders and the Segment Controller to help create the annual budget for the waste treatment facilities, and helps support the quarterly forecasting process

Work Experience



  • 8-12 years of experience in a related field such as accounting, audit, finance, business unit controllership, etc.



Education, Certificates, Licenses, or Designations



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus



Specific Skills



  • Solid foundation in US GAAP accounting
  • Business analytics and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with non-accounting individuals/teams
  • The ability and desire to be a team player is crucial
  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • NetSuite experience a plus
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are mandatory

The anticipated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000, and includes benefits such as the following:
