A growing, nationally recognized manufacturer of engineered flow metering products is hiring a Production Manager for its Cranston, RI facility. This is a direct-hire leadership opportunity for an experienced production professional ready to take the helm of a high-performance team in a fast-paced, ISO-certified, ITAR-compliant environment.

Hours & Pay

Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Salary Range: $75,000 - $120,000/year (based on experience)

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Daily Responsibilities

As Production Manager, you'll oversee complex fabrication and machining processes in a short-to-medium-run manufacturing environment. You'll lead a team of up to 100 employees while ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety in every area of production. Key duties include:



  • Manufacturing Process Oversight: Develop, validate, and improve processes for machining and fabricating metal parts and pressure vessels to meet tight tolerances and industry standards.
  • Leadership & Supervision: Provide day-to-day direction across departments including CNC machining, welding/fabrication, programming, finishing, assembly, and shipping.
  • Scheduling & Resource Management: Collaborate with planning teams to build and adjust production schedules for optimal throughput and on-time delivery.
  • Crisis Management: Resolve breakdowns, bottlenecks, or material shortages with agility and clear communication.
  • Compliance & Quality: Partner with QA to ensure operations meet ISO, ASME, NAVSEA, and customer-specific standards, including audit readiness and corrective actions.
  • Cost Control: Analyze cost variances, improve labor tracking, and implement process improvements to enhance quoting accuracy and reduce waste.
  • Infrastructure & SOP Development: Lead investments in tooling and equipment, and refine standard operating procedures that support long-term growth.

What We're Looking For



  • Experience: 7-10 years in manufacturing leadership, including welding, CNC machining, finishing, and production planning.
  • Team Management: Proven ability to manage 50+ employees across departments.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in GD&T, CNC programming, manual machining, welding procedures (GTAW, FCAW, SAW), and NDE methods (VT, PT, RT, hydro).
  • Compliance: Experience in ISO 9001, ASME, and ITAR environments; NAVSEA and CMMC 2.0 familiarity is a plus.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communicator, team player, and problem-solver with a hands-on leadership style.
