This opportunity is for a Program Supervisor to provide supervision and management for our Supports Coordination Organization (SCO) Program. The SCO Program provides case management and advocacy for individuals with intellectual disabilities who are in services. The Supervisor oversees the program, ensuring regulations are followed, staff are supervised, and program services are monitored.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supervises and manages the Supports Coordination Organization (SCO) program, ensuring services are provided in accordance with agency objectives, rules, state regulations, policies and procedures, as well as social service and case management principles and practices. Work involves conducting weekly department meetings, reviewing submitted Individual Service Plans (ISP) for accuracy, and providing direct supervision for Bedford-Somerset Supports Coordinators (SC's) on a daily basis. The County Casework Supervisor, has the opportunity to assist with projecting program and private provider needs, making recommendations for expansion of programming or changes to existing programming in order to provide quality consumer care. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Assisting staff with the completion of all documentation and reviewing for thoroughness
  • Training new staff on program and agency policies and procedures
  • Interpreting and clarifying current and new regulations, policies, and procedures to staff
  • Providing support and technical assistance with the Home and Community Services Information System (HCSIS) and the Electronic Incident Management (EIM) system
  • Responsible for supporting all aspects of Incident Management
  • Coordinating the dissemination and review of information from Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) such as bulletins, informational communications, and waiver requirements
  • Screening and reviewing all new referrals received from the AE/County DS Program Intake Department and assigning to a Supports Coordinator
  • Reviewing case records to analyze the quality of services rendered
  • Communicating productivity standards to staff
  • Monitoring a variety of reports related to ISP unit utilization, Prioritization of Urgency of Need for Services (PUNS), and SC productivity. Working with the SCs to make necessary changes when required.
  • Assuring quality of continuity of care for participants through a comprehensive advocacy program
  • Maintaining a small caseload.
  • Developing program policies and procedures, preparing correspondence and reports
  • Recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and employing all required personnel within the SCO
  • Completing employee performance reviews and reviewing staff's job descriptions for accuracy.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
    • On occasion, management staff may need to work hours outside of the set work week to complete projects, meet work demands, or in the event of an emergency.
  • This position reports to the DBHS Office for work.
  • Upon hire, new staff begin training and are on probation for 6 months. New staff may be eligible for a hybrid of on-site and remote work after 3-months of employment.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
