What this job involves: Working as a Battery Changer for powered industrial truck (PIT) equipment at a global healthcare services company that provides medical and surgical products. You'll be responsible for safely changing and maintaining batteries for warehouse equipment, ensuring proper function and extending battery life through appropriate maintenance procedures.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Changing batteries when PIT equipment operators bring vehicles to the designated battery change area
  • Maintaining all batteries in the assigned area, including cleaning and proper water level checks
  • Inspecting batteries for damaged wires, connectors, caps, and other safety concerns
  • Performing regular maintenance on batteries and charging equipment. Keeping the battery area clean (floors, battery stands, chargers)
  • Assisting maintenance technicians with other warehouse tasks as needed
  • Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times when handling batteries
  • Documenting battery changes and maintenance activities

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM

Desired or Preferred Experience and Technical Skills:
  • Previous experience in battery maintenance or industrial equipment maintenance
  • Knowledge of battery charging systems and maintenance procedures
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and PIT equipment
  • Basic electrical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to identify potential issues before they become problems
  • Experience maintaining cleaning standards in industrial settings
  • Computer literacy for record-keeping purposes

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to safely lift and handle industrial batteries
  • Understanding of basic battery maintenance procedures
  • Willingness to work in an industrial environment
  • Strong attention to safety protocols
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintenance schedules
  • Willingness to wear required PPE consistently
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Estimated total compensation for this position:

49,920.00 - 49,920.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
