Responsibilities
SCREENING OF APPLICANTS BEGINS IMMEDIATELY AND CONTINUES UNTIL POSITION IS FILLED POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Supervisor works closely with the Clinical Manager to oversee the day-to-day functioning of the acute and residential clinical programming as well as the overall operations of the clinical department. Primary duties include individual weekly supervision for Master's level interns and provisionally licensed mental health professionals along with weekly group supervision for the acute and residential therapists; performing live chart audits; creating the acute therapist daily assignments, and coordinating clinical department scheduling and staffing schedules. There will also be opportunities for direct patient care. In addition, the Clinical Supervisor provides oversight, training, employment coaching for therapists including participation in performance reviews and disciplinary action; facilitation of regular therapist team meetings; provision of training for hospital staff as well as community agencies; participation in regular treatment team/rounds meetings; completion of a variety of performance improvement audits in order to maintain regulatory preparedness; engaging in problem solving and interventions with difficult patients and/or families; participation in a variety of departmental and hospital committees; and to act as the Director of Clinical Services when the Director and Clinical Manager are unavailable. The Clinical Supervisor ensures the clinical staff meets compliance with legal and regulatory compliance and standards which promote optimum health care delivery. The Clinical Supervisor also coordinates performance improvement activities and addresses deficiencies. Other tasks may be added as needed as determined by the Director of Clinical Services. Qualifications PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. * Frequently stands, walks, kneels, reaches while working with patients. * Requires full range of body motion including handling and physical restraint of patients. * Ability to perform CPR and first aid. Ability to drive a vehicle if necessary. * Ability to work rotating shifts, and be flexible in own hours. * Must be able to speak, read and write clearly, and organize multiple tasks at one time. * Ability to visually supervise patients/residents & hear requests for assistance from patients/residents and staff. Able to problem solve situations under stressful situations. * Emotional stability necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. * Vision and hearing sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. SKILLS: Requires strong organizational and communication skills, working knowledge of personal computer, ability to maintain confidentiality. Able to complete required paperwork according to established protocol and regulatory agency requirements. Must be able to maintain professional and appropriate boundaries with clients and families. Ability to act professionally in high stress situations. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Masters degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy. Full clinical licensure (i.e. LPC, LCSW, LMFT) required. Three years OR 3,000 hours post-degree clinical expertise as a counselor. Your 2,000 post-degree hours earned towards your LPC can be included in the 3,000-hour requirement. Experience providing clinical and administrative supervision preferred. Some positions require a valid Colorado driver's license with a good driving record. CPR and first aid certification also required. STAFF DEVELOPMENT REQUIREMENTS: Must meet or exceed hospital and regulatory agency training requirements. EXPOSURE CATEGORY: I Performs tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. |
