Who we are looking for:

Cornerstone Home Lending is seeking an experienced RESPA Audit Specialist to join our team! In accordance with regulatory guidelines, the RESPA Audit Specialist proactively reviews the initial loan disclosures and the Loan Estimate (LE) for completeness and accuracy to include verification of accurate disclosure of loan related fees, researching and curing any outstanding items identified on the Loan Estimate (LE) when compared to the Closing Disclosure (CD) and determining the proper refund and/or corrections as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:




  1. Thoroughly review all LE's for accuracy and completeness to include review for charges to borrower, name of service providers, lender paid credits, fee tolerances, etc.
  2. Thoroughly review all CD's for accuracy and completeness to include review for charges to borrower, name of service providers, any cures, lender paid credits, fee tolerances etc.
  3. Review the Comparison Screen in LOS comparing data on the Loan Estimate to the Closing Disclosure for any discrepancies.
  4. Review Loan Conditions Screen and any notes in the LOS for any conditions previously identified by other departments and discuss and resolve any discrepancies as applicable.
  5. Compare the fee on the invoices to fees disclosed on the LE to the final CD.
  6. If refund may be applicable, document it along with reason.
  7. Compare seller's fee on the seller's CD to ensure agrees with the seller's fee on the borrower's CD and determine any corrections, additions or deletions as applicable on the borrower's CD
  8. Request a corrected Post Closing CD and cover letter when applicable
  9. Perform other job-related duties and or special projects as assigned.



What you'll need to be successful:




  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years prior experience in closing, post closing or compliance
  • Solid working knowledge of CFPB TRID Regulatory guidelines and fee tolerances
  • Knowledge of Consumer Fair Lending laws including Real Estate Settement Procedures Act (RESPA) and Truth In Lending Act (TILA)
  • Knowledge of FHA,VA and Conventional loan documentation
  • Able to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to follow established operating procedures and meet tight deadlines
  • Fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer
