Requisition ID# 165360 Job Category: Project / Program Management Job Level: Manager/Principal Business Unit: Operations - Other Work Type: Hybrid Job Location: San Ramon Position Summary The Principal Emergency Preparedness Specialist facilitates public safety through emergency preparedness and response within PG&E's Vegetation Management Department. The Principal is responsible for emergency planning, training support, and managing exercises within the department to ensure adequate support of activated emergency centers, including staffing the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during significant events. Responsible for developing training, tools, and processes to facilitate a consistent and efficient response. Coordinates with internal stakeholders to align with department processes and supported lines of business. Facilitates the vegetation management department staffing of emergency operations centers (EOCs) through PG&E. Responds as required to support departmental requirements and ad hoc projects. Conducts after-action reviews and implements improvements and corrective actions to implement lessons learned after significant events. Ensures the integrity of all emergency management preparedness records, activities, and responses. Responsible for emergency management budgeting, oversight of invoicing, and annual purchase order implementation. Prepares qualified emergency response contractors to safely and efficiently support major emergency events. The incumbent may also serve as a subject matter expert and provide guidance and education or influence leaders in the industry (PG&E, other utilities, or other decision makers) on regulatory issues and program strategies. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, particular skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to report to their assigned office location at least three days per week. The remaining days may be worked remotely, depending on business needs. The headquarters location is flexible and must be within the PG&E service territory.
