Acara Solutions client in the HVAC/Plumbing industry is looking for Cyber Security Engineer to join their team!
Location: Addison, TX
Duration: Fulltime/Direct Hire
The Cyber Security Engineer will work with development, integration, and delivery teams to integrate security controls and find technical solutions to solve challenges. The role is not specific to a single technology or area of focus. The cybersecurity team members are expected to able to jump into any role or technology as needed.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, execute, and track the performance of security measures to protect information and network infrastructure and computer systems.
  • Implement strategies defined by the CISO and engineer solutions to advance cyber security.
  • Identify, define, and document system security requirements and recommend solutions to management.
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security infrastructure software and hardware.
  • Install and maintain software that monitors systems and networks for security breaches and intrusions.
  • Educate and train team members about cyber security best practices.
  • Proven experience developing, operating, and maintaining security systems
  • Extensive knowledge of integrating secrets management
  • Proficiency with CICD pipeline integration of cyber components
  • Proficiency in networking technologies, network security and network monitoring solutions
  • Proficiency in cryptographic solutions including key management solutions and FIPS 140
  • Knowledge of security systems including anti-virus applications, content filtering, firewalls, authentication systems and intrusion detection and notification systems
  • In-depth knowledge of security protocols and principles
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to solve complex problems

  • Knowledge of security systems including anti-virus applications, content filtering, firewalls, DLP, authentication systems, identity management, secrets management, PKI and PKE, and intrusion detection and notification systems
  • In-depth knowledge of security protocols and principles
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to solve complex problems
  • Knoweledge of risk management and privacy
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in information security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or commensurate experience in cybersecurity.
  • 3-5 years of experience scoping and delivering engagements including development and review of tabletop exercises for Incident Response Plans, Disaster Recovery Plans, and Business Continuity Plans; Cyber Risk Gap Analyses, etc.
  • 3+ years of experience managing relationships with third-party vendors and Managed Service Providers.
  • 3-5 years of experience assessing cybersecurity risks across various industries and developing comprehensive, insightful reports.
  • 5+ years of experience working with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST RMF, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI, and federal, state, and local privacy regulations.
  • 2-4 years of experience with Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) concepts.
  • 3+ years of experience applying project management methodologies to cybersecurity or IT initiatives.
  • 2-3 years of experience working with FIPS-140 encryption standards and practical application in secure environments.
  • 2-3 years of experience in key management, including lifecycle and secure storage practices.
  • 3-5 years of experience in endpoint protection and vulnerability detection technologies and concepts.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree in cyber security or commensurate experience
  • 5 years experience with:
    1. implementing secrets management
    2. PKI/PKE infrastructure
    3. DLP Strategies
    4. Threat Intelligence
    5. Identification and Authentication
    6. Endpoint Security
    7. Vulnerability detection and remediation
    8. Risk Management
    9. Privacy
  • 10 years of experience within cyber security
  • 15 years of combined experience within IT in various roles
  • 10 years of demonstrated technical proficiency with applications, data, and infrastructure systems including:
    1. On prem
    2. Cloud
    3. SaaS
    4. PaaS
    5. IaaS
    6. Hybrid
