Job Title: Design Engineer III - Structural

Summary of Position:
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide engineering support to production activity to meet AWPC's safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets. This position requires good knowledge of the rotorcraft structural systems as well as the standard aeronautical structural installation design procedures. Daily duties include, but are not limited to, supporting assembly and fabrication of all AWPC helicopter lines, with problem solving in fit/form/function questions and technical issues coordinating the solution within the LH design dept. The Structural Design Engineer III is also responsible for drafting and review of structural installations for helicopter customizations and completions, in compliance with EASA and FAA type certificate regulations, using the applicable design tools (CATIA V4/V5 - VPM/ENOVIA - DBT).
Main related tasks are:
- Absolving day-to-day activities of sustaining engineering team accomplishing the goals and objectives established by the Design Engineering Manager.
- Support Manufacturing Engineering by coordinating the new structural design changes to be injected into Production environment.
- Participate in design reviews with the customers ensuring the structural systems installations will meet customer expectations, including support to AWPC Project Engineers with new proposals and new customer driven designs.
- Attending the design configuration board meetings and interfacing with Italian technical departments.
- Managing aircraft design modifications by acting as liaison between AWPC Design Engineering Office, Program Management, Contracts, Supply Chain, and LH Structural Systems Departments.
- Troubleshoot new structural installations and validate ATPs supporting LH Structural Systems Department.
- Leading the design team for specific tasks such as design reviews, drawing reviews, and initial layouts.

- Qualifications for Position:
A. Education
Bachelor Degree - Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering (Master preferred) |
B. Experience
6 - 10 years of experience in an engineering design environment, preferably aerospace. Combination of education and/or experience which would permit performance of essential duties and responsibilities. |
