The Sr Manufacturing Engineer reports to the Sr Manager, Manufacturing Engineering. In this role you will support the design and construction of test equipment and tools for medical device manufacturing assembly lines. You will partner with engineering, quality, manufacturing and test teams. In addition, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives in support of departmental, site and corporate objectives for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Cost Performance.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Mechanical engineering member of manufacturing, quality, electrical and software engineers responsible for the construction of electro-mechanical test equipment & tools for medical device assembly lines.

  • Drive tool and equipment designs through modeling, prototyping, testing, drawing release, and into production.

  • In addition to developing new equipment, existing assembly lines may require enhancements, improvements, and additions to improve quality and robustness of processes.

  • Research and analyze existing designs; propose, implement, and validate changes while following engineering build and change processes.

  • Support project planning with estimates of cost, resources, and time.

  • Develop and update supporting design and process documentation for all equipment. This includes mechanical models, assembly drawings and build work instructions.

  • Assist with validation processes to confirm the capability of new or enhanced tools and equipment.

  • Limited travel may be required including foreign and domestic locations.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor of Science in related Engineering field required.

  • 3 or more years of related experience.

  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles applied to the design & implementation of manufacturing equipment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment.

  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings, facility layouts, and component manuals/instructions and electrical schematics.

  • Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, CREO), crafting solid models and assembly drawings.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the Medical Device or a similar regulated industry.

  • SAP experience is a plus.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $88,000 - $121,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commission, and/or long-term incentive.
