DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Social Services Aide 1 is an entry level position and works closely with case workers and other social service aides to provide services in the home to families with children after a caseworker has visited and determined services to be provided. This is an excellent opportunity for one-on-one assistance and communication with families to work toward positive goals and outcomes. In this important role, you will provide assistance in all areas of family life including household budgeting; in-home parenting education, proper hygiene, nutrition, cooking, food shopping skills and maintenance of the home. Your duties may include transporting consumers to supervised visitation and necessary appointments. Work may include providing childcare when necessary and assistance in completing applications and forms. Following a consumer appointment, a written report will be required. You will have the opportunity to participate in meetings with other staff to develop treatment plans and set goals for consumers. Under a constantly changing work environment, our ideal candidate will efficiently manage multiple tasks, meet strict deadlines, and display excellent attention to detail skills. Other duties to include but not limited to:
- Attending court and testifying
- Performing clerical office duties as needed
- Traveling to areas that may not be accessible to public transportation
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Note: $1,500 sign on bonus available for this position after six (6) months of service.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
- Evening and weekend work hours are routine
- Possible Travel Requiring Overnight Stays. Possible After-Hours Appointments for Supervised Visitation And Transportation
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Graduation from high school; or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
