Introduction

The Commonwealth's Attorney is one of five constitutional officers in the Loudoun County government. The primary function of the office is to investigate and prosecute felony, misdemeanor, traffic, and juvenile criminal cases in concert with local and federal law enforcement agencies, as well as complaints from private citizens.


Job Summary

The Executive Assistant performs complex administrative work in support of the Commonwealth's Attorney, a constitutional officer; provides confidential administrative support; information to the public; administrative support to committees; attends meetings; prepares and distributes minutes; prepares documents, letters, and reports; and performs related duties.

The successful candidate will independently carry out administrative tasks in accordance with instructions, policies and procedures, and accepted practices. This position may supervise lower-level administrative support personnel, volunteers, interns, or other assigned staff.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provides administrative support to Department. (Supports Department programs with administrative support for special projects and various functions and meetings.)
  • Completes Research and Analysis (Completes research and analysis on strategic initiatives, policies, issues, procedures, programs or trends.)
  • Provides customer service. (Provides courteous and timely customer service to County staff, vendors, citizens, and other visitors; refers customers to appropriate staff.)
  • Completes Special Projects (Coordinates or participates as a team member on special projects and events.)
  • May perform other essential job functions
Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent; five (5) years of related clerical/administrative work experience with computer automated systems and office applications experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
