Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Programmer with our client in the financial industry located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX, and Pennington, NJ. This is a 12 + month contract position.

Responsibilities:


  • Promote accessibility within the organization; advocate for considering accessibility as a vital part of the customer experience
  • Conduct wireframe and design review, providing feedback and suggestions for addressing accessibility related concerns
  • Manage updates to company standards through research, collaboration, and knowledge of current trends
  • Stay ahead of emerging standards and technologies (web, mobile, document) and analyzing impacts to company standards
  • Keep challenging existing accessibility practices, looking for ways to simplify and/or automate processes, and recommending best practices
  • Educate clients on accessibility best practices, and how to comply with WCAG 2.x requirements
  • Gather information from clients, to help create and deliver accessibility training for developers, designers, content creators, and management
  • Provide solutions to maintain compliance while creating accessible digital products for excellent customer experience
  • Build relationships among stakeholders to foster support for digital accessibility, communicate changes to policies and procedures, and drive maturity of accessibility programs
  • Update and manage accessibility documentation to provide guidance and education for a broad audience
  • Lead teams and technical discussions and decision-making to resolve complex Accessibility issues
  • Contribute to accessibility testing standards that will scale across a large organization
  • Contribute to accessibility training of others, lead, and present training sessions
  • Provide coaching for Analysts and other team members



Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or similar required
  • Certifications preferred: CPACC, WAS, CPWS, JAWS and ADS
  • Digital Accessibility Analyst/Specialist to ensure that our company's digital products and services are accessible to everyone.
  • Expertise is needed to conduct accessibility reviews on wireframes, components, websites, mobile applications, and PDFs
  • Analyst will work closely with user researchers, designers, developers, and QA testers to improve accessibility initiatives
  • Excellent understanding of WCAG 2.x guidelines
  • Expert Level knowledge of assistive technologies
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML & CSS
  • Good knowledge of JavaScript & WAI-ARIA
  • Understanding of SDLC and agile skills
  • Advanced knowledge of native mobile accessibility features
  • Ability to provide code level solutions, review wireframes and designs
  • Understand of QA process
  • Proficient in the latest Web Content Accessibility Guidelines
  • Knowledge of user experience design (UX Design) best practices, interactive design principles, guidelines, and relevant policies, including current web accessibility standards
  • Strong problem-solving skills and able to think creatively to identify solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate the complexities of Accessibility to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Professionalism with internal and external stakeholders
  • Natural leadership abilities and can effectively coach/mentor/train teammates
  • Excellent time management skills and always delivers on time
  • Self-motivated and able to manage their own schedule requires minimal supervision
  • Possesses strong critical thinking skills
  • Extremely detail-oriented and has an analytical mindset
  • Educate clients on accessibility best practices, and how to comply with WCAG 2.x requirements
