Architects (non-licensed), SmithGroup, Inc., sub. of SmithGroup Co., Inc., 301 Battery Street, 4th Floor, San Francisco, CA The Architect (non-licensed) prepares architectural drawings, renderings and design assignments under general supervision of a senior licensed Architect. He or she receives instruction on specific assignment objectives and independently provides solutions for these objectives. Job duties performed under general supervision include: Performs architectural assignments under general supervision. Coordinates drawings with drawings of other disciplines. Coordinates specifications with drawings to meet project requirements. Relates building design concepts to building codes, zoning ordinances and other external issues. Assists on consulting with manufacturers, researches and proposes materials and products. Participates in construction administration including responding to RFI's, preparing sketches and addendums (ASIs and CCD's), visiting the construction site to gather information, prepare punch lists, and answer contractor questions. Advances designs developed by others and creates and develops planning and design concepts for small projects under general supervision. Assists with assessment of design requirements. Details internal and external features of a building. Has knowledge of basic drawing details and researches more complex details. Prepares presentation drawings and otherwise assists in presentations both internally and externally. Regularly works with design software (CAD, Revit, Sketchup, etc.) as well as Microsoft Office. Regional travel may be required, less than 5% of the worktime. Telecommuting is permitted in coordination with project team leaders. Minimum requirements: a bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent degrees accepted) in architecture, or a closely related architecture or design field of study and five years of progressive work experience in any related occupation working on architectural design. Basic annual pay range is one hundred eleven thousand, one hundred fourteen dollars to one hundred thirteen thousand, six hundred twenty dollars per year for full-time employment and standard company benefits.
