We are seeking a dedicated Natural Resource and Wildlife Program Coordinator to oversee and coordinate conservation programs and projects aimed at protecting natural resources and wildlife habitats on Department of Defense Facilities. The Program Coordinator will work closely with stakeholders, government agencies, and community partners to develop and implement strategies for sustainable management of natural resources.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate conservation programs and initiatives to protect natural resources and wildlife.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure program objectives are met.
- Conduct research and data analysis to support program development and decision-making.
- Collaborate with government agencies to support conservation efforts.
- Plan and organize outreach activities, educational events, and workshops to raise awareness about conservation issues.
- Monitor program budgets, expenses, and resources to ensure efficient use of funds.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and publications on program outcomes and impacts.
Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a biological sciences related field of study.
- Proven experience in natural resource management, wildlife conservation, or similar field.
- Strong knowledge of environmental policies, regulations, and conservation practices.
- Advanced knowledge of field methods for scientific investigation and monitoring (data collection) of flora and fauna species, preferably species commonly found within the Columbia plateau region of Washington
- Prior work experience in natural resource related positions on DoD facilities is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge/skills in utilizing GIS to conduct species/habitat assessments and modeling
- Advanced knowledge of wildlife-habitat relationships
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in data analysis and report writing.
- Passion for conservation and environmental sustainability.
