Administrative Assistant II - Neurology

Description

The Administrative Assistant will provide technical support, lead assembly, and research assistance. Job duties include lead and electrode assembly for a research project within the department of Neurology and neurobiology at UCLA and Olive View-UCLA Medical Center. You will perform literature reviews, and create and edit excel spreadsheets for research data. You will provide office work as needed for the department, and will contribute to data analysis and research manuscripts, abstracts, and poster presentations. The Administrative Assistant will be trained to assemble electrode leads and should have manual skills needed for electrode and patch assembly, and strong skills in word and excel, and strong attention to detail.

Salary Range: $25.60 - $36.33/Hourly

Qualifications

Required:

  • Strong organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills to work with minimal to moderate supervision.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and ability to work well with multiple individuals.
  • Ability to maintain an organized working area.
  • Ability to keep accurate and organized lab records.
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and to switch focus as needed.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn new laboratory techniques and new lab equipment, as needed.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel.
  • Experience in the preparation of research regulatory documents, informed consents, and IRB submissions.
  • Excellent writing skills to prepare correspondence and proofread for correct spelling, punctuation and grammar.
  • Ability to handle confidential material with judgment and discretion.

Preferred:
  • Knowledge of standard laboratory equipment and supplies.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Mac OS.
  • Knowledge of IRB protocols and applications.
  • General knowledge of University procedures.
