Your responsibilities

Summary

The Production Team Leader reports to the Production Manager and is responsible for maintaining smooth operations of the forge line through coordinating personnel and keeping track of production numbers and safety.

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Oversee safety in the production area
  • Oversee production related activities
  • Maintain day to day operations of production personnel
  • Record keeping and reporting
  • Maintain and lead 5S activities

Specific Responsibilities of the Job

  • Responsible for managing personnel within CBA language
  • Plan daily activities to achieve daily production targets
  • Manage vacation schedule and overtime of employees ensuring adequate work force on the shift, while maintaining supporting documentation, including SAP, posting overtime sheets at PTM pre-shift meeting sight
  • Track, control, and enter scrap into SAP
  • Record daily production activity into SAP
  • Manage the quality of our forgings and checking our process every hour
  • Respond to Product Inspector Findings
  • Understand our company quality system, including documentation, equipment and network
  • Ensure appropriate PPE being worn by employees
  • Fill out necessary incident reports
  • Oversee steel receivers
  • Oversee saw operations for test pieces
  • Oversee all changeovers and die changes to safely hit target cycle times
  • Track tool and die life
  • Adjust machine set-up sheets and distribute for job change overs
  • 80% minimum shop presence observing operations
  • Responsiveness to people
  • Check production reports from previous shifts
  • Attend daily production meetings
  • Assist Maintenance Engineers in managing plant maintenance issues by assigning personnel to the issue

Your profile
  • Education/Credentials/Certifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Technology or related field with 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment

Or

  • 6-10 years of supervisory/lead operator experience in a technical field in a manufacturing environment
  • Length of Experience
    • 3-10 years of experience in manufacturing
    • Forging experience is a plus
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
    • Knowledge of forging process and machine operations
    • Knowledge of die repair and improvement
    • Excellent communication skills; able to relay problems
    • Basic mathematical ability
    • Excellent reasoning and problem solving ability
    • Excellent interpersonal abilities
    • Able to perform a variety of duties
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
