Job Description:

Job Summary
  • Responsible for performing duties to meet Southwest Airlines requirement to comply with FAA 121.373 Continuing Analysis and Surveillance (CASS) program. This position will conduct audits to ensure the CASS program for monitoring the performance and effectiveness of the maintenance program is meeting requirements

Additional details:

  • This role is offered as a remote workplace position, which may require travel fortrainings, meetings, conferences, etc. Outside of those required visits, the majority of your working time may be spent in an approved remote location, away from our Corporate Campus. Please note, while this is a remote position, there islimitedgroup of states or localities ineligible for Employees to regularly perform their work off-site. Those ineligible locationsare:Alaska, California, Colorado, Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Massachusetts, Maryland, Montana, New Jersey, New Hampshire New York, North Dakota, South Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, and Wyoming, and Puerto Rico.
  • U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S. required and no current or future work authorization sponsorship available.

Responsibilities
  • Performs surveillance to ensure that operational procedures are in compliance with SWA policies and procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Performs in-process audits of aircraft maintenance documents (i.e., Airworthiness Directive (AD), Major Repair and Alterations, Required Inspection Items (RII), and Long Term Time Limited Deferral (LT TLD) work documents) to ensure compliance with SWA and Regulatory Requirements
  • Evaluates and recommends improvements to business practices, processes and controls to address reported or unreported failures in compliance
  • Acts as liaison by interacting, guiding and responding to Certificate Management Offices (CMO) or Flight Standards District Offices (FSDO) FAA inspectors during their on-site visits and inspections
  • Maintains professionalism while conducting surveillance and interviews with Customers to become familiar with activities, procedures and controls within area to be audited
  • Reviews business processes to identify potential risks or gaps within current processes and procedures
  • Writes and distributes audit reports and audit summaries to internal and external Customers and where appropriate, provides recommendations for improvements or process changes to mitigate compliance risk
  • Develops, Maintains, Coordinates and Facilitates Team Assignments/Team Assignment meetings
  • Develops and Facilitates Team Audit Training, and mentors Team members in development of skills
  • Analyzes and resolves complex audit issues and effectively attains conflict resolution in a timely fashion with little to no supervision
  • Will be required to accomplish investigations, reporting and follow-up of non-compliance events found at AEMP, vendor, or SWA MX Location
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Expert knowledge of maintenance procedures outlined in the 14 CFR Part 121, SWA Maintenance Procedures Manual, and/or other Industry Standards( A4A, ARSA, etc)
  • Working knowledge of the CAMP (Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program) and the CASS ( Continuous Analysis & Surveillance System) in a 14 CFR Part 121 environment.
  • Requires excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Strong computer and software skills required (Excel, Access, PowerPoint); familiarity with data query or reporting tools preferred
  • Ability to develop and facilitate presentations at monthly CASS Board meeting and/or other venues as needed
  • Ability to influence outcomes at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to anticipate and resolve problems, and able to address situations with conflicting priorities with professionalism
  • Ability to prioritize work with multiple concurrent tasks, and meet timelines provided
  • Ability to adapt and demonstrate a flexible approach and work style to meet changing demands, environments and circumstances
Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
  • Expert level experience, expansive and far reaching knowledge in::
    • Aviation maintenance environments
    • 14 CFR Part 121 Air Carriers
    • Aviation Inspection or Auditing
Licensing/Certification
  • Required: Airframe and Powerplant Certificate or ASQ Certification
Physical Abilities
  • Ability to access all industry environments, including restricted access areas requiring climbing, bending, kneeling and stooping
  • Limited exposure to the fumes of fuels, oils and chemicals
  • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Able to travel with some overnight stays up to 40-60% of the time
  • Travel on weekends may be required
  • Must be able to perform audits during day, evening or night shifts

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $116,350 per year to $129,300 per year* depending on qualifications and experience, with opportunity for future pay increases based on performance and market movement. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
