Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
In accordance with the mission of the University, the School of Health and Human Sciences is organized into eight academic departments and two programs: Communications Sciences and Disorders, Kinesiology, Public Health Education, Community & Therapeutic Recreation, Human Development & Family Studies, Nutrition, Peace and Conflict Studies, Social Work, Genetic Counseling Program and Gerontology Program. Each department offers courses for all University students and programs of study leading to undergraduate majors and minors in their respective areas. Master's degrees are offered in all departments and doctoral (Ph.D. and Ed.D.) degrees are also offered in Kinesiology, Public Health Education and Communication Sciences and Disorders. The faculty seek excellence and national recognition for the undergraduate and graduate programs through their teaching, scholarship and service. The School of HHS is committed to cultural diversity and the full development of human potential.
Position Summary
The position of University Program Associate is a full time, twelve-month administrative appointment reporting to the Assistant Dean for Projects and Programs with a dotted line to both the Dean of the School of Health and Human Sciences and the Director of Development for HHS. The University Program Associate is responsible for the following: coordinating the School's donor relations and stewardship process (25%), leading the alumni relations effort (25%), planning and executing School-wide advancement-related events (20%), managing alumni- and donor-related communications efforts (20%), and assisting with the daily operations of development support (10%).
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an academic environment.
  • Experience in the Banner database or other donor and finance systems.
  • Knowledge of University practices and policies, forms processing, budgeting and accounting practices.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and communicate well with others in a team environment and to interpret and apply a wide range of policies and procedures and share this information as needed.
  • Ability to problem-solve and respond to changing circumstances with a positive demeanor.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with an extensive group of university staff and administrators.
  • Must be available to work on weekends and during non-traditional hours.
