Responsibilities
- Help set up the operating room and organize the sterile table with surgical instruments and equipment, sterile linens, and sterile solutions.
- Understand sterile aseptic technique and demonstrates knowledge of basic care preparation including knowledge of supplies and equipment relevant to the specific procedure.
- Understand the surgical procedures and effectively anticipates the 's needs, surgeon's needs passing instruments and providing sterile items efficiently.
- Work well within a team, demonstrate flexibility, and willing to assist others and perform departmental tasks needed.
- Work within the AORN and AST guidelines
- Clean and restock the operating room.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Graduate of a Surgical Technology program, equivalent training as an LPN, or five years of experience in scrubbing operative procedures.
- Surgical Technologist Certification (NBSTSA or NCCT)
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Two years of clinical practice
