Current MaineHealth employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth employees are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment. The Patient Service Specialist role ensures patient scheduling and referral needs are met while assisting in the general administrative and patient service needs of the practice.
The Gynecology Oncology Patient Service Specialist is an integral member of our incredible team of Registered Nurses, Patient Service Specialists, Nurse Practitioners , Medical Assistants and Physicians serving care to women with gynecologic cancer across the state and northern NH. Key responsibilities of the Gynecologic Oncology Patient Service specialist include greeting patients at the front desk as they check in and check out for their appointment. Screening and documenting patient and provider phone calls in the EMR, escalating message to the appropriate pool in a timely manner. Other responsibilities include monitoring referral work-ques, running reports, collecting copays, reviewing patient forms for completeness, obtaining patient signatures, scheduling and notifying patients of follow up appointments and scanning and indexing patient records. The Patient service specialist also works closely with the clinical team, supporting and helping patients as they navigate their cancer journey. Our Gynecology Oncology team strives to live out our organization's values, working together, as a team, to provide patient centered, quality, comprehensive care to each and every patient that steps through our doors. This is a full-time position during the Monday-Friday work week. Flexibility for 10 hour shifts once fully trained and the possibility of remote work one day a week once fully trained.
