MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Gorman & Company is seeking an experienced full-time Maintenance Technician dedicated to delivering exceptional maintenance services as part of a collaborative team. A Maintenance Technician is one of the most important jobs in maintaining a residential apartment community in a safe, attractive, and comfortable condition for our residents.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will assist with:


  • Corrective maintenance involves completing resident service requests.
  • Unit preparation will include painting, cleaning, repairing, and/or replacing appliances, plumbing, and/or electrical fixtures, etc.
  • Preventive maintenance by regularly inspecting grounds, property, plumbing, electrical fixtures, and appliances for repair, wear, and damage.
  • Respond to on-call emergencies and assist with resident notices
  • Communicate with vendors and contractors, as needed.
  • Prepare property for seasonal weather, including, but not limited to, snow or winter weather, fall leaf clean-up, or other safety and cosmetic needs affected by seasonal weather changes.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to all residents, vendors, and team members.


What do I need to qualify to be a Maintenance Technician?


  • Minimum of two years of previous experience in property management maintenance, building maintenance, or related trade
  • Possess a valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and have a motor vehicle record that meets the standards of insurability set by the insurance carrier to operate a personal automobile while on company business.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and experience in servicing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and installing various HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drywall, carpentry, standard appliances, and pool maintenance (if applicable).
  • On-Call required.
  • Must have your own tools.
  • Must be able to read work orders/service requests.
  • Good safety habits.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
