Job Description

Missouri S&T is seeking a detail-oriented and service-minded HR Specialist I to join our collaborative recruitment team within Human Resources. This role plays a key part in supporting faculty and staff hiring across campus and offers the opportunity to interact with a wide range of individuals and departments. While the position provides variety and campus engagement, it is also heavily focused on administrative and transactional processing - ideal for someone who enjoys working with systems, managing details, and keeping processes moving smoothly behind the scenes. Team members also participate in job fairs, training sessions, and other campus initiatives that support and promote recruitment efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage candidate progression within the applicant tracking system, ensuring application materials are accurately routed to hiring managers in a timely and organized manner
  • Process hiring-related data and maintain accurate records
  • Oversee I-9 completion and compliance
  • Assist in the management and onboarding of student employees
  • Participate in job fairs, campus events, and training opportunities to promote and support recruitment efforts
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support HR and campus-wide initiatives
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn HR systems and tools
  • Prior experience in recruitment, human resources, or administrative support
  • Familiarity with I-9 processing
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $16.82-$17.63 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.

Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck. The University of Missouri provides generous leave, health plans, and retirement contributions that add to your bottom line.
