Paulsboro, NJ

Are you a servant leader with the ability to mentor, coach, and inspire our PSC employees in our Rail Field Operations? Work Schedule: Monday-Friday (Must be flexible to work OT/Weekends)

Pay Range: Starting at $32.00- $34.00 DOE

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

The overall guiding expectation is that the Switching Leader will actively engage with our customer's site leader(s) and full-time field employees to ensure that all rail operations under his or her direction at the plant are striving to achieve excellent performance in the areas of safety, environmental and overall job quality.

Clearly communicates goals around operating performance
Participates in safety meetings and overall training initiatives
Performs safety observations in the field and identifies trends or areas of improvement
Ensures that all incidents are investigated and participates directly in significant incidents
Works closely with the field employees and customer to identify improvement areas, efficiencies and help implement them
Ensures positive recognition is occurring for good performance
Identifies future leaders and creates individual development plans
Performs annual performance evaluations with field employees
Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

Experience in a leadership role involving railroad operations, safety, and training
Experience with 'Yardmaster' is a plus
Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills
Self-motivated with the ability to builds trust
Attentive and active listening skills

Minimum Job Qualifications:

18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
TWIC Card required
Stable work history with good references from past employers
Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
PSC is a veteran-friendly company. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.
