ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES


  • Work from blueprints, assembly drawings, assembly routing sheets, wire lists, verbal instructions and process and mil specs, perform general assembly operations including printed wire board assembly, conformal coating, potting, ultrasonic cleaning, coil winding, evacuation and backfill, component forming, wire wrapping and painting as required by program or process. Conduct bench and in-process sub assembly testing including leak testing.


  • Make recommendations to project engineering department regarding modification of assembly processes. Construct complicated assemblies as required including electronic disk assemblies.


  • Maintain electro-static discharge certification, explosive handling certification (including lead installation) and soldering certification, including general, wire, printed wire board, wave, and critical disk head soldering, as required by program or process.


  • Remain flexible and willing to work in various work cells depending on company need. Support company initiatives including ISO 9000 and statistical process control (SPC) ensuring continuous improvement of policies, procedures and product.


  • Document and record results of completed testing and repairs products. Assess the level of repair and determine the cause of system failures. Take appropriate action to repair components and to ensure proper operation of equipment. Report unusual circumstances or conditions to supervision as required.


  • Attain security clearance as required. Use personal computers and associated software such as word processing and spreadsheets as required.



REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:


  • Use of addition, subtraction, multiplication and the division of numbers including decimals and fractions. Simple use of formulas, charts, tables and various types of measuring instruments, where interpretation is required involving basic skills knowledge.


  • Over 1 year and up to and including 3 years.



REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:


  • Requires the use of some judgment to comply with instructions, prescribed routines, methods and/or practices involving the making of minor decisions.


  • Light physical effort consisting of occasionally (over 15% and up to 40%) lifting or moving average weight (over 25# and up to 60#) material.


  • Continuous mental and visual attention; usually repetitive work or diversified operations requiring constant alertness or activity.


  • Equipment or process: Probable damage over $2,058.75, but seldom over $20,587.50.


  • Material or Products: Probable loss over $8,235.00, but seldom over $20,587.50.


  • Only reasonable care in performing own work is necessary to prevent injury to others. An accident, should it occur, would result in minor injuries such as cuts, abrasions, burns or bruises.


  • Responsible for own work but may be asked to assist with training of new hires.


  • Injuries improbable, except for minor cuts, burns, abrasions or bruises.



WORKING CONDITIONS

Somewhat disagreeable working conditions. Exposed to noise, vibrations, etc. with one continuously present to the extent of being objectionable.
