Cape Fox Mountain Point is seeking a Site Quality Control (QC)/Site Safety (SSHO) Manager. The Site Quality Control (QC)/Site Safety (SSHO) Manager position will develop and implement the quality/Safety program, QC/Safety plans, enforcing policies, assessing risk, and ensuring compliance with legal guidelines for the Mountain Point construction company. Work will be performed primarily within the Southern United States (Texas, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, Florida). General construction work will include: building renovations and repair; new construction; pre-construction services, IT and physical security upgrades; electrical, plumbing and HVAC; and demolition. Civil and utility work will focus on specific electrical and underground water infrastructure (e.g., potable water, storm, sewer) and all associated earth moving services. The Site QC Manager is responsible for management of the Contractor QC Program.

The Site QC/SSHO Manager supports internal department development of the corporate quality program for standard operating procedures (SOPs), deliverables, subcontractors, and employees to embed the quality focus within the company. The employee will help improve and/or develop internal QC and safety policies. The Site QC/SSHO Manager will oversee the subcontractor QC personnel and quality specialists in support of the Corporate QC Manager, project managers, site superintendents and their construction projects. The Site QC/SSHO Manager provides leadership and guidance for the department, works to improve core processes, and manages projects. The employee will maintain company quality/Safety records and training records for internal compliance.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Duties include:



  • Direct the execution of the project-specific approved Contractor QCP and APP Plans with exclusive responsibility for administration of the plan and inspections of work.
  • Must maintain a physical presence at the work site at all times and is the primary individual responsible for all quality control and safety of the project site.
  • Prepare the meeting agenda/minutes and lead the weekly project-specific meetings.
  • Attend the Coordination and Mutual Understanding Meeting, perform the three phases of control, perform project-specific submittal review and approval, ensure testing is performed and provide QC certifications and documentation required in the Contract.
  • Responsible for managing and coordinating the three phases of control and documentation performed by the QC Specialists, testing laboratory personnel and any other inspection and testing personnel as may be required by the contract.
  • Inspect a project before, during, and after construction to ensure compliance with all safety and quality specifications. Hold weekly safety meetings (Tool Box) and maintain safety deficiency logs.
  • Monitor each active project site (i.e., where work is being performed) daily to ensure full compliance with all safety requirements and verify that the materials and workmanship are in accordance with the approved construction drawings, shop drawings, material submittals and technical specifications along with maintaining a QC deficiency log.
  • Comply with Company policies, rules, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Implement methods to inspect, test and evaluate products and production equipment including daily equipment checks.
  • Work according to deadlines provided in the project schedule and as defined by the site superintendent/Project manager for the delivery of products/services.



Work Environment

Primary work will be supporting construction efforts on U.S. Government contracts at military installations. Site QC/SSHO managers typically work full-time in a variety of settings, including offices, facilities or construction sites. The work typically involves considerable travel and fieldwork, and the employee can be exposed to dangerous or stressful situations. The employee will work on a team with other project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure that all aspects of a project's design and construction are completed correctly.
