As VP of Engineering, your crucial responsibility will be to drive the integration of Salesforce applications by delivering Salesforce HyperForce on GCP. You will have the unique opportunity to work at the forefront of AI, cloud computing and infrastructure and contribute to enabling a full suite of Salesforce applications on Google Cloud. We are looking for a seasoned engineering leader capable of defining the vision, driving the execution and delivering a rock solid, mission critical platform. The ideal candidate will have proven experience of hiring and building a cross region engineering team and growing and mentoring architects and leaders of teams.

Our Public Cloud engineering teams are responsible for innovating and maintaining a large-scale distributed systems engineering platform that ships hundreds of features to production for tens of millions of users across all industries every day. Our users count on our platform to be highly reliable, lightning-fast, supremely secure, and to preserve all of their customizations and integrations every time we ship. You will need deep experience in delivering large-scale systems and experience in owning services at a very high scale in an efficient and automated way.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the vision of enabling a full suite of Salesforce applications on Google Cloud in collaboration with teams across geographies

  • Manage, hire, and nurture a world-class organization to deliver cloud frameworks, infrastructure automation tools, workflows, and validation platforms on our public cloud platforms

  • Drive execution and delivery by collaborating with cross-functional teams, architects, product owners, and engineers

  • Be technically involved and work closely with product owners and architects to build best-in-class services and systems at scale

  • Provide technical guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members

  • Encourage ideas, have your point of view, and lead with influence

  • Make critical decisions, innovate aggressively while managing risk, and ensure the success of the product

Experience/Skills Required

  • Masters / Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Equivalent Experience

  • Overall 20+ years experience and 10+ years of experience as a hands-on software engineering leader

  • Working knowledge of public cloud technologies (GCP preferred) and proven experience leading large enterprise migrations.

  • Experience leading large organizations that have a distinguished track record on delivering technically demanding products which have been released for wider consumption

  • Service ownership experience of cloud-based distributed services running at B2C scale

  • Experience in hiring, mentoring, and leading engineers, managers and manager of managers

  • Possess outstanding written and oral communication skills, highlighting critical details to executive leadership while retaining ability to hone into details.

  • Experience working in a Scrum/Agile development environment. Agile mindset, ability to iterate, take risks and evolve.

  • A strong adherent to software engineering best practices which enable building world-class products such as unit testing, modular code, right abstractions, continuous integration mindset, etc

  • Strong data structure and algorithms skills and extensive programming experience, preferably in object-oriented languages

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $307,100 to $491,500. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
