Overview

VTG seeks a motivated communications specialist to that will work collaboratively with the communications team to develop, write, repurpose, and edit a broad range of content for internal and external messaging.

This role will be based out of VTG corporate offices in either Chantilly, VA, Washington, DC or Virginia Beach, VA.


What will you do?

  • Support the execution of communication strategies with content that inspires and engages employees across multiple channels.
  • Support special projects to ensure employees are receiving the right information at the right time.
  • Plans, designs, implements and maintains communications based upon objectives, within guidelines.
  • Develops communication material including, but not limited to emails, internal articles, presentations, website, video, social media, marketing material, and newsletter content.
  • Helps manage and maintain content for various communication channels.
  • Provides comprehensive support in proofreading, editing and ensuring the consistency of the brand voice in all communications.
  • Plans and posts content on VTG's social media channels in alignment with communication strategies.
  • Monitors all social media channels associated with VTG to maintain consistency with VTG's strategic communication plan.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations or marketing.
  • 0-3 years of experience in internal or corporate communications.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced settings.
  • Experience with web content management systems such as WordPress.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite applications or Canva.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and adapt to shifting needs.
  • Ability to handle confidential or highly sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong project and time management skills with attention to detail and the ability to balance multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative while working well in a group environment.
