Velosity Brooklyn Park is searching for a Quality Technician to support our manufacturing facility in Brooklyn Park, MN on 1st shift. The Quality Technician is responsible for understanding, communicating, and verifying conformance to internal and external quality standards.

This is an on-site position.

Shift: 2nd Shift Monday - Friday, 3pm - 11pm.

The typical pay range for this role: $22.00-$34.46/hour. This role is also eligible for our 5% quarterly bonus target.

This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.

Essential Duties:

  • Work cooperatively with all employees.
  • Program and operate CMM.
  • Initiate, perform and maintain inspection instructions for receiving, in-process and final inspections.
  • Develop and/or adapt inspection equipment to meet quality standards, make suggestions regarding procedures, standards and equipment to facilitate work and maintain product quality.
  • Investigate and determine cause of quality issues; assist production and other personnel with Corrective Action process.
  • Assist in the handling and documentation of nonconforming products.
  • Assist in maintaining the calibration system.
  • Performs all other assignments as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Licensing/Registration/Certification: Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.
  • Preferred 3 years quality experience in a manufacturing environment with one year of CMM programming (PCDMIS).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills; effective business correspondence and reporting; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and business operating systems.
  • Understanding of modern manufacturing processes; knowledge of systems implementation including ISO 9001 and AS9100 prblueprintxperience with basic measurement tools (micrometers, tool scopes, etc.); knowledge of blueprint reading / GDT; an understanding of component and/or mold manufacturing and ability to make decisions on in process tolerancing.
  • To be able to perform daily tasks safely; to work independently with limited supervision; to be able to solve practical problems and work effectively with customers, suppliers and other internal departments.

Work Environment:

This is a non-smoking, professional manufacturing facility with normal lighting, and climate control. This position requires the employee to work on a manufacturing floor where they may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors, exposure to heat, noise, dust, dirt, oil and waste.
