Bartlett Cocke General Contractors in Austin, TX is currently seeking Superintendents to join our team in Austin, TX!
The Superintendent will manage, and control assigned projects, including overseeing field operations, site safety, productivity, schedule, quality of work, and subcontractor/vendor coordination. Experience working on mission critical, data center, healthcare, or other highly technical / MEP-intensive projects is a strong plus.
This role works in conjunction with the Project Manager leading the project team in delivering projects on schedule and within budget, while maintaining high standards of quality and client satisfaction. The Superintendent also supervises and coordinates the daily activities of field personnel, subcontractors, and assistant superintendents in a dynamic, fast-paced construction environment.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Planning:
- Develop and manage construction sequencing and scheduling from project start-up through completion.
- Plan and supervise Assistant Superintendents and craft personnel, including construction methods, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, temporary facilities, and work schedules.
- Understand project estimates and budgets and monitor field performance accordingly.
- Review submittals prior to installation to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Understand subcontractor and supplier scopes of work and participate in buyout processes.
- Assist with preparation and updates to the project schedule, including procurement activities and long-lead items.
- Establish and manage punch list and close-out procedures with the Project Manager, Owner, and Architect.
- Coordinate procurement of tools, materials, and equipment necessary for project execution.
- Mentor and train team members to support professional development and project success.
Pre-Construction:
- Collaborate with the Project Manager during preconstruction planning and scheduling.
- Provide input on constructability, site logistics, and sequencing.
- Participate in constructability reviews and value engineering efforts.
- Assist in developing site logistics plans and identifying potential project risks.
Safety:
- Ensure jobsite safety requirements are clearly communicated and enforced for all personnel and subcontractors.
- Proactively identify and correct safety hazards.
- Promote a culture focused on incident prevention and continuous improvement.
- Report jobsite incidents in a timely manner and participate in follow-up actions.
- Lead and participate in regular safety meetings and pre-task planning.
Client Loyalty:
- Understand and communicate the Owner's goals and expectations to the field team.
- Maintain positive working relationships with Owners, Architects, Engineers, and Inspectors.
- Support a high level of client satisfaction through effective communication and project execution.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Superintendent experience. Completed at least 2 non-residential/commercial projects valued at $25M+ from start to finish with a General Contractor.
- BS or BA in Construction Science/Engineering or equivalent field experience.
- Experience assisting with development and management of project schedules.
- Working knowledge of scheduling concepts and software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with data centers, healthcare facilities, or other MEP-intensive / technically complex projects.
- Familiarity with commissioning processes, system start-up, and turnover procedures.
- Exposure to coordinating multiple MEP trades and equipment vendors.
- Familiarity with construction management software such as CMiC and Asta.
