Job Description
CSCI is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) EDI/XML Data Architect to support the design, development, and implementation of complex integration solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise in Oracle EBS 12.x and a thorough understanding of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and Extensible Markup Language (XML) standards. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical authority and provide innovative solutions to support business-critical processes.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert for EDI and XML integrations within the Oracle E-Business Suite (version 12.x), providing technical direction and interpreting complex requirements
- Design and implement scalable EDI architecture solutions for both inbound and outbound data flows between third-party systems and Oracle EBS
- Apply deep understanding of EDI standards including ANSI X12 and EDIFACT (Electronic Data Interchange for Administration, Commerce, and Transport), and manage common transaction sets (810, 834, 835, etc.)
- Utilize Oracle EBS integration techniques including Open Interface Tables, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) tools, Business Process Execution Language (BPEL), and Advanced Queuing (AQ)
- Develop and maintain XML schemas using Document Type Definitions (DTD) and XML Schema Definitions (XSD); utilize tools such as Oxygen XML Editor and Altova XMLSpy
- Lead requirements gathering, conduct fit-gap analyses, and design end-to-end business processes for integration flows
- Configure and test Oracle EBS solutions, including functional design and validation of custom components using RICE (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Extensions) and CEMLI (Configurations, Extensions, Modifications, Localizations, Integrations) frameworks
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and provide support for EDI/XML integration issues with minimal supervision
- Leverage expertise in Oracle development tools including Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, BI/XML Publisher, Oracle Developer 2000, and PL/SQL
- Develop innovative technical solutions to resolve integration challenges and ensure robust system performance
- Communicate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders, including executive-level personnel
- Potentially lead integration projects, ensuring successful and timely delivery
Minimum Requirements
- Active Secret Federal security clearance
- 10+ years of relevant experience in EDI/XML electronic data exchange and a specific logistics-related function (e.g., finance, supply, contract administration, transportation, or operations research)
- Expert-level knowledge in one or more areas of Information Technology such as:
- Information Systems Architecture
- Telecommunications Systems Design and Implementation
- Software Development Methodologies
- Security Engineering
- Communications and Network Systems Management
- Information Systems Integration
- Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving
- Ability to work with clients to understand their needs
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional presence
