The MDTA owns, operates, and maintains eight major toll facilities comprised of four bridges, two tunnels, and two turnpikes, across the state of Maryland. For over 50 years, the MDTA has provided Maryland's citizens and visitors with safe, secure and convenient transportation facilities. Nature of Work: The Salesforce Development Supervisor is located in the Division of Information Technology and is responsible for all aspects of the Salesforce platform including planning, designing, developing, configuring, customizing, testing, training, documenting, and implementing improvements and new or advanced systems or applications, and providing ongoing maintenance and support of custom applications and third-party integrations. Duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Developing solutions and enhancements on the Salesforce platform;
- Mentoring, training, assigning, reviewing and correcting the work of other Salesforce Administrators and Developers assigned to the projects to ensure compliance with design parameters and standards;
- Making recommendations regarding purchase of Salesforce licenses, storage, and other needed applications to management;
- Providing system administrator support for Cornerstone and Human Concepts platforms;
- Identifying and defining technical best practices and standards to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, codes, and policies; and
- Developing high-level and detailed design, technical requirements and specifications to support full project lifecycle as needed.
The employee in this position will receive direct supervision from the Cloud Services Manager. The current vacancy is located in Baltimore, Maryland. Hybrid telework schedules may be available for this position.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or other information technology-related field to include coursework in application, communication, database or operating systems software technology. Experience: Four years of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining application, communication, database, or operating systems software. **Two years of this experience must include experience in Salesforce development. ** SELECTIVE QUALIFICATION recruitments are utilized when the position requires specific or additional bona fide occupational qualifications (knowledge, skills and abilities). No substitutions are allowed for a Selective Qualification. The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator
- Salesforce Certified Application Architect
- Salesforce Platform Developer II

Thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems or other information technology-related field to include coursework in application, communication, data base or operating systems software technology may be substituted for the required education. 2. An additional year of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining application, communication, data base or operating systems software may be substituted for the required education. 3. Experience operating multipurpose, multi-tasking computer systems; or scheduling, controlling input and output or maintaining a tape library to process data on multipurpose, multi-tasking computer systems; or evaluating, implementing and maintaining microcomputer hardware and software; or converting data from project specifications by writing program code using third generation or other generally accepted computer programming languages may be substituted for high school on a year-for-year basis.
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the Computer Systems Operations classifications or Computer Systems Operations specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
