Job Description

Digital Strategist

This position will be responsible for implementing various messages, creating written and visual content for digital platforms and managing the execution of email campaigns.

Job responsibilities
Executing email campaign tactics for Student Affairs, including query lists, segmenting audiences, building emails and conditional logic. Do a final check of schedule, parameters and content for each.

Develop, implement, and manage the organization's social media strategy across various platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn) to enhance brand awareness, engagement, and community building.

Analyze social media performance metrics, providing regular reports on engagement, reach, and audience growth, and identifying opportunities for optimization.

Developing procedures and guidelines for the execution of campaign tactics in CRM and three other email systems (Slate, Dot Digital, Mailchimp & iModules).
Setting up templates, standard content blocks, and individual email messages in email system.

Monitoring performance of current campaign components, discussing changes with client managers, and making agreed upon adjustments.

Craft concise, engaging messages for students and families, must be able to write in AP Style.

Demonstrated ability to create engaging and effective content for various social media platforms, including but not limited to filming and editing video content, and writing compelling captions.

Researching new approaches and methods of email execution and reviewing performance of past campaign components to identify successes and opportunities; making recommendations for future campaigns. - Understand various email CAN Spam laws.

Working with lead strategists and digital communication manager to schedule and execute email communication. Includes drafting, building and reviewing external requests for communications, executing and/or making recommendations for adjustment to content, timing, and audience.

Making recommendations to the mix, quantity and cadence of emails that are part of student campaigns and that support the overall goals of each campaign.

* Checks schedule and content for ADA each tactic before scheduling email.
* Keeps Assistant Director updated on all scheduled emails or newsletters.
* Sets up templates, standard content blocks, and individual email messages in email system.

Impact #2: Monitors performance of email campaigns for Student Affairs - Student Communications.
* Recommends changes to lead strategists and makes agreed upon adjustments.
* Reviews external requests for communications and executes or makes recommendations for adjustment to content, timing, audience.

Impact #3: Drafts communications for department objectives for Student Affairs - Student Communications.
* Writes content with little direction to achieve the departments' goal
* Reviews performance of past campaign components to identify successes and opportunities.
* Researches new approaches and methods of email campaign execution.
Impact #4: Creates Social Media Content for Student Affairs - Student Communications.
* Plans, captures, and edits content for social media aligned with marketing goals.
* Posts and manages content across platforms to maintain brand consistency and engagement.
* Analyzes performance and provides insights based on trends and effectiveness.

* Updating lead strategists on effectiveness of ongoing tactics.
* Presenting technical data (results information) in an easy-to-understand way.

Technical acumen
* Experience in a CRM system, preferably dot digital, Slate, mailchimp, immodules.
* Ability to identify routine structures and implement blocks of regular content into templates.
* Experience following projects in a project management system.
* Ability to troubleshoot code in HTML/CSS.
* Proficient in Microsoft O365, including Sharepoint, OneDrive and Teams.
* Skilled in capturing professional quality video using a mobile phone.
* Proficient in video editing, preferably in Adobe Express.

Clear communication
* Communicating clearly in writing (via emails, project management system and chat) to a variety of roles, from task completers to divisional leadership.
* Preparing written reports - both detailed and general - for the lay [non-marketing] audience.
* Articulating clearly and professionally via email, Teams chat, and inside the project management system.

Shift

29 hours per week, flexible; Mon-Fri 8-5PM

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary: $21.00/hour

Grade: GGS-MKT

University Title: Temporary Technical
