Technology Advancement Office Job Description
Technology Advancement Office (TAO) MU research and scholarship often lead to new technologies, tools, therapeutics, diagnostics, compositions, processes and other inventions that can improve people's lives. The Technology Advancement Office (TAO) partners with faculty, companies, entrepreneurs and investors to bring those innovations to market. TAO is part of MU's Division of Research, Innovation & Impact and is currently looking for Administrative Consultant II. We work at the interface of science, business and patent law to evaluate, protect and pave the way for the translation of innovations into products, jobs and businesses. The Administrative Consultant II, Engineering, under general direction of assigned director or administrator, manages the university's intellectual property assets by providing professional support in the identification, patenting, licensing, marketing, and reporting of university intellectual property. The Administrative Consultant II, Engineering, will ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and University policies; identifies, evaluates, and protects researcher's intellectual properties, including outreach to faculty to stimulate disclosures; guide faculty on protection processes; and evaluate prior art and intellectual property patent research activities, having extensive interaction with patent attorneys. Key Responsibilities Include: Invention Disclosure Management: * Manage/support the invention disclosure process, including outreach efforts within MU to educate faculty and staff on technology transfer and to stimulate the submission of disclosures.

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 6 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications
