Manager, Rehabilitation Services (Speech Pathology)

Job Description

Manages, plans, and organizes the staff and activities of rehabilitation services to ensure the quality and efficiency of care rendered. Monitors/administers treatments in accordance with the written and signed prescription and/or referral of a licensed physician or other State authorized practitioner.

Job Responsibility

THIS POSITION IS FOR A LICENSED SPEECH PATHOLOGIST

• Provides leadership to Rehabilitation Services team members and supervisors by communicating and guiding toward achieving department objectives.
• Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the health system.
• Manages implements staffing requirements and improves productivity of service.
• Oversees maintenance of equipment to ensure constant operation and makes recommendations for purchase of capital and non-capital equipment.
• Develops and manages directly reporting management, and oversees the development and management of their staff.
• Builds and maintains productive intra-departmental work relationships to optimize operations.
• Ensures compliance with government and agency regulations.
• Recommends, implements and adheres to approved operating goals, objectives and budget.
• Reports operational performance, justification and/or corrective action.
• Ensures coordination, integration, communication, implementation, integrity and evaluation of operating policies and procedures.

Job Qualification

• Master's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Current License to practice as a Physical Therapist in New York State, or Current License to practice as a Registered Occupational Therapist in New York State, or Current License to practice as a Speech Pathologist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
• 6-8 years of relevant experience and 2-5 years of current leadership / management experience, required.
• Hospital experience, preferred.
