JOB DETAILS

Base Pay: $21.00 per hour, plus $0.75 per hour shift differential

3rd Shift: Monday-Friday, 11 pm-7 am

Benefits Starting Day 1

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Associate visually inspects extruded product for consistent appearance and length according to defined standards. Associate ensures product consistency and standards including but not limited to proper counts packing patterns, packing enclosures and cart setup and labels. Associate packs finished product into bundles, Associate fills out paperwork as required (length sheets & labels). Associate must have 6 months experience as a PA1 before they can be promoted to a PA2.

  • Visually inspect extruded product for appearance and size defects according to specifications
  • Conduct recurrent tests/inspections of products' functional features
  • Notify appropriate personnel (Production Associate 3s, 4s & 5s, Manufacturing Shift Supervisor) of product defects
  • Set up carts
  • Get proper crates, top boards and shrink wrap
  • Assemble bundles for packaging. If need reference go to product packing guidebook
  • Ensure product is centered (by using tape measure), put one row of product down then snug the plastic
  • Square, band, heat seal and label the packed bundles
  • Associate can operate notchers
  • Discard unacceptable profiles in Scrap Rack. Ensure that scrap is no longer than 8 foot long and packed properly for grinding
  • Alert another associate, PA2 or higher, ASAP if product becomes jammed up on production line
  • Alert an operator ASAP if the product stops moving on the line
  • Perform line shut down tasks. (Clear scrap product off the table, put onto scrap cart and band up
  • Communicate with previous and following shifts' Production Associates about product quality,problems, and status of work in progress
  • Perform housekeeping duties as needed
  • Complete accurately and legibly all line packaging-related paperwork
  • Identify product not being cut to spec in accordance with line check sheet
  • Clock in before and after shift to record time worked
  • Observe health and safety practice. Observe health and safety practices at all times
  • Leading by example. Doing the right thing when no one is looking, not taking short cuts, following Plant & company policies
  • Taking ownership in our plant and culture
  • Must demonstrate integrity
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required
  • Maintain supplies at workstation
  • Communicate with Material Handler(s) to move full bundles
  • Must be able to read tape measures
  • Float to relieve other Production Associate 1s for breaks
  • Attend all required shift and monthly communications meetings
  • Actively participate in all plant safety programs
  • Notify Operators or Supervisor if proper tools are not furnished to complete job functions
  • Assist with production equipment maintenance
  • Identify and be able to lend a hand to associates in need of help

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read, write and perform basic math skills as job duties require
  • Must possess positive attitude, and demonstrate excellent attendance
  • Must be quality and safety conscious, a team player
  • Must be able to work quickly with product and able to lift lift up to 50lbs on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist and ability to team lift 51to 100lbs, longer product may require 2 people to lift onto the cart or move cart into finishing area., keep colors separate, and record lengths accurately
  • Must have excellent manual dexterity and be able to concentrate for sustained periods
  • Must have good communication skills and be able to interact with people
  • Extensive standing, frequent bending, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, twisting, and walking
  • Potential for uncomfortable inside climate, building is not climate controlled so may have uncomfortable temps in both summer and winter months
  • Equipment/Tools Used: Hearing protection, safety glasses, tape measure, proper gloves for task specific duties, and inserts
  • Safe work performance is required from each Associate at all times
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a safe manner in accordance with applicable Health and Safety Manuals
  • Required to wear or use personal protective equipment as applicable and to immediately report unsafe working conditions
