Senior Counterintelligence Analyst

***This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with ability to obtain a Counterintelligence Polygraph ***

Cherokee Analytics is seeking a Counterintelligence Analyst that identifies, monitors, and assesses foreign intelligence efforts attempting collection of sensitive national security information on U.S. persons, activities and interests, including threats posed by emerging technologies to U.S. operations and interests.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Senior Counterintelligence Analyst: $140,000 - $150,000. Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Senior Counterintelligence Analyst Responsibilities Include:



  • Produces IC-coordinated all source intelligence analytic products on foreign intelligence entities and capabilities, intentions, willingness, and opportunities to threat the Department of Defense.
  • Provides analytic support to senior officials, collectors, and operators throughout the DoD, IC, and law enforcement agencies/organizations.
  • Produces all source analysis of Foreign Intelligence Entity (FIE) Information Operations efforts.
  • Researches, reviews, edits, plans, prepares, integrates and publishes complex all source studies, papers, briefings, and assessments in coordination with other agency elements and IC components.
  • Performs extensive research and in-depth analysis of FIE doctrine, regional efforts to distort information, published false narratives and influence events through information operations.
  • Identifies significant trends of FIE behavior and proposes new or revised analytic projects to alert decision-makers to new development and meet customer requirements.
  • Supports joint intelligence preparation of the operational environment development via planning and targeting.
  • Coordinates, monitors, and integrates intelligence while ensuring timely, comprehensive and accurate response.
  • Identifies significant intelligence gaps, specifies collection requirements to fill gaps in information, evaluates resulting intelligence collecting in response to requirements and determines analytical approach to incorporate collected data into all source production.
  • Serves as a team member on command-wide, multi-disciplinary efforts that involve foreign strategic and regional information operational issues.
  • Informs decision makers in briefings on foreign strategic and regional information operations and influence issues.
  • Provides support to overall counterintelligence/HUMINT activities as required by J2X leadership.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Senior Counterintelligence Analyst Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • Active TS/SCI clearance; must be willing and able to obtain CI Polygraph.
  • Must have twelve (12) years of relevant analysis experience within the last 2 years.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university; Master's degree preferred.
  • Graduate of in-residence Fundamentals of Intelligence Analysis course or military service equivalent.
  • Data analysis skills and proven organizational abilities to analyze large amounts of data and provide senior level products.
  • Experience in researching, developing, and writing in-depth analytic processes.
  • Knowledge of the DoD and/or IC Information Operations activities.
  • Demonstrates ability to collaborate and work with other IC members on information sharing, driving collection, and addressing analytic disputes and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrates ability to develop concise, insightful, and comprehensive products for defense intelligence.
  • Demonstrates ability to lead teams in researching multifaceted or critical problems.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate understanding from information that may be incomplete, indirect, highly complex, seemingly unrelated, and / or technically advanced.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the labor category activities required to meet mission requirements.
  • Mastery of qualitative and quantitative analytic methodologies and pursue developments in academia or other fields that affect tradecraft methodology.
  • Ability to define comprehensive, new, or unique research approaches that enable rigorous assessments to address and contribute to high-level tasks.
  • Ability to demonstrate in-depth analysis of analytic operations and knowledge management issues across organizational and intra-IC boundaries and clearly articulates key findings.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to review analytic products for cogent arguments, tradecraft standards, and adequate support for conclusions; routinely tests analytic rigor of analytic products.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
