The Opportunity:

Join Avantor as aGlobal Account Directorand drive strategic growth while strengthening our most valued global partnerships and customer relationships!

In this high-impact leadership role, you will be responsible for managing and expanding Avantor's performance within assigned global accounts. You'll serve as the primary point of contact for executive-level customer relationships, ensuring alignment across geographies and functions to deliver exceptional value and customer satisfaction.

Your mission: Lead cross-functional teams, optimize global pricing strategies, and unlock new opportunities to position Avantor as a trusted partner in scientific and industrial advancement.

The ideal candidate will be based in or near Cambridge, MA, to facilitate collaboration with stakeholders.

What We're Looking For:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

Experience:

  • 7+ yearsof sales leadership experience, preferably in a matrix-driven, global environment.
  • Proven success in managing high-level customer relationships and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate and influence at all organizational levels.
  • Experience in pricing strategy, contract negotiation, and vendor relationship management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead presentations, develop proposals, change management and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Familiarity with global markets and cultural nuances in customer engagement.

How You Will Thrive and Create an Impact:

  • Lead strategic account management for assigned global customers, ensuring alignment across sales, supply chain, pricing, and contract teams.
  • Coordinate a matrix-selling environment to drive market segment growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for global accounts, managing communications, expectations, and performance metrics.
  • Develop and execute pricing strategies in collaboration with internal stakeholders to maintain competitiveness and profitability.
  • Negotiate with manufacturers to secure favorable pricing and program terms.
  • Deliver compelling customer presentations and lead contract proposal efforts for new and existing opportunities.
  • Engage internal leadership and market segment teams to support account strategies and ensure seamless execution.
  • Advocate for customer needs internally, ensuring timely issue resolution and alignment with long-term business goals.
  • Travel up to 30% to maintain strong customer relationships and oversee global account performance.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)

Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.

Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.

A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis. Some overnight travel to sales meetings vendors may be required.

Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
