Responsibilities
Summary: The Executive Vice President, Secure Services has the authority, responsibility and accountability for the leadership and guidance of Secure Services for operations. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Executive Vice President, Secure Services plans and directs all operations and administrative activities within GEO's Secure Services operations, including the development of long- range goals, strategies, and objectives.
- Oversight responsibility for the Training and Staff Development to include Emergency Preparedness/Readiness.
- The Executive Vice President, Secure Services participates in business development activities for new and existing clients.
- Reviews the financial and operating performance of the facilities against operating plans and oversees changes as needed.
- The Executive Vice President, Secure Services provides guidance to Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs) to ensure all Company Business Units adhere to quality and compliance requirements.
- Provides guidance to RVPs to ensure the safety and security of inmates, detainees, or residents, and employees at the facilities.
- The Executive Vice President, Secure Services interviews and makes selection recommendations for regional and senior facility management positions. Evaluates the performance of these employees and makes recommendations regarding compensation.
- The Executive Vice President, Secure Services prepares reports and special studies relating to policies, operating procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Participates as a member of the senior management team.
- Represents the organization as necessary at the Corporate and Regional level.
- Reviews staffing plans with RVPs and business development team to ensure facilities are properly staffed.
- The Executive Vice President, Secure Services provides corporate-level guidance in all appropriate functions through communications designed to maximize Companywide results.
- Coordinates and evaluates Company strategic planning activities and performance objectives.
- Partners with Corporate Contract Compliance to develop operational monitoring tools.
- Monitors standards and controls through site visits, weekly and monthly reviews, as well as internal, external, and client audits.
- Seeks and develops new partners and vendors to maximize internal and external resources. Directly works with finance to review pricing and quality to establish the best value for Companywide initiatives.
- Provides guidance and participates in new facility start-ups.
- Performs on-going reviews to ensure safety measures and procedures are updated and maintained on a current basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
- Fifteen (15) years of work experience in a corrections environment with at least ten (10) years of managerial level experience.
- Must possess a working knowledge of state and federal correctional practices, policies/procedures and ACA requirements.
- Must be able to work independently and within groups. Must be able to work with all stakeholders at each level within the organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to make formal presentations in front of an audience or in written documents.
- This position requires above average travel with frequent overnight stays.
- Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
- Above average knowledge of spreadsheet software.
