GENERAL SUMMARY: Under direction of the IT Manager, or the Director: manages the IT Application portfolio's production and non-production application environments, software systems and third-party IT products. The Application Administrator contributes to the planning, design, development, release management, troubleshooting and support of IT application portfolio environments, software systems and third-party IT products. This position is responsible for providing support, input to design, maintenance, access, and security administration. The responsibilities also include troubleshooting application issues and/or data issues when they arise. Will communicate solutions, issues, and risks directly to technical management or other responsible entities. A high degree of interaction with users, technical teams, and critical stakeholders is expected. The Application Administrator is responsible for supporting the performance and reliability of IT application portfolio systems and assists or performs troubleshooting for hardware, software and system problems that involve application servers, web servers, process schedulers, and third-party software and application modules. Under supervision of senior resources and management, coordinates and installs updates for IT application portfolio systems including applications, security, and other upgrades. Collaborates with senior personnel on recommendations for enhancements/changes that may involve custom design, and optional and third-party products to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of IT application portfolio systems. Monitors and maintains performance metrics for system features, recommends and takes corrective/preventive actions. Participates in the implementation and testing of production applications. Performs configuration, change management and testing activities as required. Consults users on technology changes that will impact work processes. The Application Administrator is part of an IT team that is accountable for production support (including on-call duties in a 24x7 environment) as well as new projects. The ideal candidate will have supported application technology projects and supported management and users on new functionality and changes to existing applications.
