GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under direction of the IT Manager, or the Director: manages the IT Application portfolio's production and non-production application environments, software systems and third-party IT products. The Application Administrator contributes to the planning, design, development, release management, troubleshooting and support of IT application portfolio environments, software systems and third-party IT products. This position is responsible for providing support, input to design, maintenance, access, and security administration. The responsibilities also include troubleshooting application issues and/or data issues when they arise. Will communicate solutions, issues, and risks directly to technical management or other responsible entities. A high degree of interaction with users, technical teams, and critical stakeholders is expected.

The Application Administrator is responsible for supporting the performance and reliability of IT application portfolio systems and assists or performs troubleshooting for hardware, software and system problems that involve application servers, web servers, process schedulers, and third-party software and application modules. Under supervision of senior resources and management, coordinates and installs updates for IT application portfolio systems including applications, security, and other upgrades. Collaborates with senior personnel on recommendations for enhancements/changes that may involve custom design, and optional and third-party products to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of IT application portfolio systems. Monitors and maintains performance metrics for system features, recommends and takes corrective/preventive actions. Participates in the implementation and testing of production applications. Performs configuration, change management and testing activities as required. Consults users on technology changes that will impact work processes.

The Application Administrator is part of an IT team that is accountable for production support (including on-call duties in a 24x7 environment) as well as new projects.

The ideal candidate will have supported application technology projects and supported management and users on new functionality and changes to existing applications. He or she will have coached, trained, and mentored less senior professionals.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Provide support to end users and interfaces with Service Desk personnel, providing knowledge base articles and guidance.
  • Administer IT application portfolio Systems, environments, upgrades and security.
  • Assist in the Implementation, Configuration and Support of new services and applications.
  • Support senior personnel with weekly/monthly operational checklists, documentation and process improvements.
  • Coordinate with Infrastructure Teams for trouble-shooting, capacity and performance issues.
  • Assist in the installation of IT application portfolio System, other patches as required.
  • Assist in Disaster Recovery planning, and testing for IT application portfolio applications.
  • Adhere to Change Management processes, represent IT application portfolio application and other changes as necessary at Change Management meetings.
  • Deploy and administer Application and third party tools as required; other platforms as necessary.
  • Support IT application portfolio Application environments and software including third party products and software upgrades on 24X7 on call basis including at off business hours as directed by the management.
  • Monitors and coordinates installation and upgrades of software as necessary to enhance performance. Research or assist in various software products as required; recommend solution and implements approved products.
  • Utilize standard corporate tools to record changes and problem activities for tracking and resolution purposes.
  • Ensures proper documentation and on-time delivery of all technical artifacts and deliverables.
  • Keeps abreast of new Tools & Technology and functionalities across the solution domain.
  • Promotes teamwork and mentors junior personnel.
  • Initiates a personal training plan, continues acquiring skills and knowledge, and pursues an understanding of the organization's business plans and strategies.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of application administration or development required.
  • 1+ years of Sitecore site-level administration or web development required.
  • 1-3 years of experience working with applications hosted on a Windows and SQL platform required.
  • Ability to work off hours in 24x7 production support environment required.
  • Experience supporting third party applications required.
  • One (1) year of experience in a Healthcare setting preferred.
  • Vendor Management experience preferred.
  • Experience with Service Now service management software preferred.
  • Experience with Sitecore on premise and Office 365 preferred.
  • Experience with communication applications preferred.
