Join our team as a RN Diabetes Educator. Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital is committed to teaching our patients and their families how to effectively manage diabetes using the latest information, treatments, education and technology available. We know that a diabetes diagnosis can come with many uncertainties and lifestyle changes. That's why our physicians work closely with patients/families, nurses, diabetes educators, dietitians and social workers to create an individualized treatment plan for each patient.

What Sets Us Apart

* Our diabetes program supports children and caregivers during the initial diagnosis of diabetes and provides ongoing treatment, education, long-term management and support including transitioning to adult care.

* We offer diabetes education classes that provide survival skills and comprehensive self-management education for our patients and families at all stages of their diagnosis.

* We have access to pediatric specialists and subspecialists throughout our hospital and can provide a seamless transition for patients who need additional specialty care beyond our services.

Work Location: St. Petersburg, FL (may require travel to our other clinics.

Work Hours: 7a-5:30p (M-F) 1 Saturday per month.

Who Should Apply:

* BSN Preferred. Applicants with an Associate's degree in nursing will be required to obtain BSN within 36 months.

* Current State of Florida RN license required.

* Certified Diabetes Educator certification required.

* 3 years pediatric clinical experience and evidence of participation in educational activities.

* BLS required.

* Ability to interact with patients and family members in a positive manner to teach diabetes principles.

Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital is recognized as a Magnet(R) designated hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the largest and most prominent nurses credentialing organization in the world.

Salary Range: Minimum 40.95/hour - Maximum 63.46/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
