Duties/Responsibilities


Duties/Responsibilities
The publications student assistant supports the creation and maintenance of Extension publications within the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Office of Marketing and Communications. The College hosts an extensive online library of Extension publications, which are content written for the general public that is research-based and peer reviewed. Duties will vary by student, but may include emailing faculty regarding their publications; formatting references according to APA style; editing manuscripts for clarity, spelling, and grammar; updating older publications to adhere to modern brand and accessibility standards; creating scientific illustrations, charts/graphs, or finding appropriate stock images to illustrate publications; writing alt text for images; and creating HTML-based versions of publications that currently are available only as PDFs.
