General Function:
Develop and lead initiatives to support our doctors within Luxottica Retail North America (RONA) and Luxottica EyeCare amongst our affiliated optometrists. Partner with field leaders and corporate office to design and implement medical and surgical services within participating practices. The work will be focused on two key areas: 1) Medical services including treatments, training, and billing; 2) Strategy and operations of surgery centers across North America.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance to the Executive Leadership Teams on strategies and processes for implementing both the Medical Services and Surgical Center business models within the North America RONA brands
- Responsible for the organization, execution, and operations of the new Medical / Surgical Services business before hand off to designiated RONA brand
- Assess, advise and lead the implementation of Medical Services in our directly managed optometric offices
- Build and lead a high-performing team focused on the growth and expansion of the new business
- Develop and execute the strategy to expand the Medical services within our affiliated optometric practices, acting as the subject matter expert.
- Develop and maintain clinical standards for affiliated optometrists across RONA, encompassing both directly managed and affiliated practices
- Develop a process to monitor and improve clincial quality for directly managed offices including but not limited to a chart audit process, protocols, data analysis, etc. to ensure quality standard.
- Set the standard for brand eyecare directors to ensure affiliated optometrists are compliant with clinical standards
- Evaluate, advise and spearhead initiative to implement Ophthalmic surgery within North American market
- Create and implement standard operating procedures s for Ophthalmic surgery within North America
- Create new operational processes and lead the in-office and electronic training for both Medical Services and Surgical Center implementation and office management
- Accountable for results of in terms of growth and profitability of new business models (Medical Services and Ophthalmic Surgery)
- Design and initiate 'pilots' to test new insturments and technology within the brands
- Maintain and cultivate vendor relationships on behalf of EssilorLuxottica to evaluate new equipment and technology to advance the new business
- Partner with vendors to offer negotiated discount pricing for affiliated optometrists
Basic Qualifications:
- Doctor of Optometry
- Optometric practice management experience
- Clinical patient care experience
- Ophthalmic surgery practice experience
- Prior leadership/ management experience
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, listening, persuasive)
- Business Case Development experience
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to think strategically and creatively
- Excellent "soft" leadership skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent prioritization skills with a clear focus on results
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team and create a collaborative atmosphere
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel 50%+
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in a large corporate enviornment
- Experience in retail optical
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
